Baked pears

The skin of the whole Baked pears will be slightly browned and the flesh will be soft and fragrant. This is a healthy and delicious way to enjoy pears.

1. Baked Pears with Blue Cheese and Honey

4 pears, preferably Bosc

1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles

2 tablespoons honey

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme leaves

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

1. preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cut the pears in half lengthwise and remove the core with a melon baller or spoon. Place the pear halves, cut side up, on the prepared baking sheet.

3. In a small bowl, combine the blue cheese crumbles, honey, lemon juice, thyme, and black pepper.

4. Divide the mixture evenly among the pear halves, spooning it into the cavity where the core was removed.

5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
